Welcome to Bets Dressed, a newsletter presented by NFL Fashion Advice.
I started my Twitter account (@fashion_nfl) back in 2020 out of a desire to share thoughts on NFL uniforms, aesthetics, and all things football. I've gotten the itch to expand my NFL commentary beyond a 280-character limit and have been wracking my brain as to how. I landed on the following thought experiment: what if NFL gambling picks were based solely on who dresses best? Voila! Bets Dressed was born.
What readers can expect: Uniform Wardrobe Power Rankings sorting NFL teams from 1 to 32 based on who dresses best across the totality of their wardrobes. From there, Team Futures based on the results of the Power Rankings including season win totals, playoff teams, Division winners, Conference winners, and - of course - the Super Bowl winner. Futures aren't complete without Individual Futures including Most Valuable Player, Offensive Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, Offensive Rookie of the Year, Defensive Rookie of the Year, Comeback Player of the Year, and Coach of the Year. These will be decided based on individual swag (style, equipment, number, etc.) in conjunction with the Power Rankings position of the relevant team. We may even delve into Fantasy Rankings applying individual player swag analysis to tiers of consensus fantasy rankings.
Once the NFL season kicks off, look out for Weekly Picks discussing each NFL Uniform Matchup and featuring picks against the spread for each game based on which team dresses best. The Weekly Picks issue will also crown the Best Uniform Matchup and shame the Worst Uniform Matchup.
Come along on the search for an aesthetic edge.
My goal with Bets Dressed is the same as my philosophy on sports uniforms: (1) keep it simple and (2) give the people what they want. Please reach out, ask questions, and let me know what you would like to see in the Bets Dressed newsletter. Shoot me an email at [email protected]. And find me on Twitter at NFL Fashion Advice (@fashion_nfl).
Coming Attractions.
The first substantive issue of the Bets Dressed newsletter will be dropping tomorrow and will reveal The 2022 NFL Uniform Wardrobe Power Rankings. Check out where each team ranks on the list, including tier-by-tier and team-by-team analysis of every franchise's wardrobe.
