Bets Dressed - Week 7 - Thursday Night Football Uniform Matchup and Player Props

Hard to follow the uniform nirvana of last week’s rendition of Thursday Night Football. But Broncos-Saints is more compelling than it gets credit for. Spencer Rattler looked competent in his first start. Sean Payton is back in New Orleans. And his Ferris Bueller moniker for Bo Nix is coming with him. A get-right game against the injury-depleted Saints is just what Ferris needs.

Ladies and gentlemen, the Save Ferris Bowl!

A quick note on methodology.

As always, I’m analyzing every NFL uniform matchup and picking a winner against the spread based on which team dresses best. And just because a team is ranked higher in the Uniform Wardrobe Power Rankings doesn’t mean it will automatically win the uniform matchup. It’s what you wear in the instant matchup that counts.

Looking back at Week 6.

7-7 on the week, which brings us to 44-47-1 one third of the way through the season. Onward and upward.

Few uniforms better exemplify “just because it’s a throwback doesn’t mean it’s good” than the three-gold mess that is the Saints throwback. New Orleans has a shade-of-gold problem in general, and their Color Rush throwback would benefit from color matching, but nothing can save those dreadful mustard pants. Some things are best kept in the past. On the other side, the Broncos new wardrobe continues to feel over hated - especially when Denver is in white.

I’ve been saying it since the beginning of the season, and I’ll say it again here: Bo is best when he gets to cut loose and use his athleticism. Some might even say it allows him to be a righteous dude. As noted above, the Saints are injury rich, and I like the Broncos to win this one for their coach in his return to the Big Easy.

The Pick: Broncos -2.5

Club SDR - Week 7 Player Props.

A full helping of Niners-Seahawks delivered a 2-1 showing to bring us to 9-9 on the season. Let’s keep stacking winning weeks.

Kyle Pitts - Over 39.5 Receiving Yards

People forget that Kyle Pitts just turned 24 years old. And while he’s still far from living up to his fourth overall draft pedigree, this season with Kirk Cousins is showing real promise. Averaging 79 yards over his last two games, I like him to keep it up against a withering Seahawks defense.

Tank Dell - Over 4.5 Receptions

Without Nico Collins in the lineup last week, Tank delivered season highs in targets (9) and catches (7). I expect more of the same in a potential shootout in Green Bay.

Kyler Murray - Over 211.5 Passing Yards

While the Cardinals have had their ups and downs (mostly downs) to start the season, Kyler has not been the problem. I think Drew Petzing comes out throwing against a stingy Chargers run defense.
