Bets Dressed - Week 6 - Thursday Night Football Uniform Matchup and Player Props
After advocating for years, we’re finally getting a true rendition of Throwback Thursday. And it just so happens to feature one of the best uniform matchups in recent memory - and a surefire contender for uniform matchup of the year. If this doesn’t convince the NFL and Amazon to roll out Throwback Thursday Night Football on Prime Video, nothing ever will.
Ladies and gentlemen, the Uniform Nirvana Bowl!
A quick note on methodology.
As always, I’m analyzing every NFL uniform matchup and picking a winner against the spread based on which team dresses best. And just because a team is ranked higher in the Uniform Wardrobe Power Rankings doesn’t mean it will automatically win the uniform matchup. It’s what you wear in the instant matchup that counts.
Looking back at Week 5.
The breakthrough we’ve been waiting for. 8-5-1 on the week and 37-40-1 on the year. Next stop: above .500.

It doesn’t get much better than this, folks.* Silver against gold. Blue against red. And touches of green and black to take things over the top. The Niners show what’s possible with drop shadow done right. And the Seahawks sleeve stripe/logo is aesthetic nuclear fusion personified. Just sit back, enjoy the show, and appreciate how good we have it.
Winner of this one leaves in first place of the NFC West. But - for our purposes here - it’s less about the victor’s destination and more about the accumulation of points on the journey. Advanced metrics will tell you San Francisco and Seattle are Top 10 defenses, but both units are nursing injuries coming into this one (and licking wounds coming off poor showings). Brock Purdy and Geno Smith have been throwing** it all over the yard, and something tells me we’re in for a fair share of explosive plays. With the Uniform Gods on our side, sky’s the limit.
*First time in history we’re getting this uniform matchup.
**Both Top 4 in passing yards.
The Pick: Over 48.5
Club SDR - Week 6 Player Props.
Week 5 delivered the best uniform slate in recent memory but an underwhelming prop showing. 1-2 on the week and 7-8 on the season. Leaning all the way in to Throwback Thursday to right the ship.
Geno Smith - Over 13.5 Rushing Yards
San Fran is Bottom 12 in rushing yards allowed to opposing quarterbacks. And in four career starts against the Niners as a Seahawk, Geno has exceeded the number three out of four times - averaging 17 yards per game across all four. In Eugene we trust.
Deebo Samuel - Over 55.5 Receiving Yards
In seven career starts against Seattle, Deebo has averaged 111 receiving yards per game. I think he can clear half that for this one.
Kenneth Walker - Over 19.5 Receiving Yards
Over the last two weeks, Walker is finding his stride as a receiving back - averaging seven catches and 47 yards. With the Niners Bottom 8 in receiving yards allowed to opposing running backs this season, I like him continuing to step up as a security blanket for Geno.
