Bets Dressed - Week 3 - Thursday Night Football Uniform Matchup and Player Props
It’s Thursday Night Football and another glorious football weekend is upon us. We all remember what happened last time Aaron Rodgers was under center for the Jets at MetLife in primetime. But this is a new year in Gotham with a new uniform wardrobe.
Ladies and gentlemen, the Red, White, and Legacy Green Bowl!
A quick note on methodology.
As always, I’m analyzing every NFL uniform matchup and picking a winner against the spread based on which team dresses best. And just because a team is ranked higher in the Uniform Wardrobe Power Rankings doesn’t mean it will automatically win the uniform matchup. It’s what you wear in the instant matchup that counts.
Looking back at Week 2.
7-9 on the week. 16-16 on the year. Time to get back on the right side of .500.

I was worried the Jets might go with the subpar blackout uniform and land this one in worst of the week.* So I was pleased to see New York made the right choice with Legacy Green for the home opener. Easy pick over the Patriots.
Coming into the season, I thought of New England as a clear bottom tier team and New York as a fringe top tier team. But two weeks in, both the Pats and Jets find themselves somewhere in the middle in terms of EPA and success rate. The big difference here is one team has Aaron Rodgers and one team doesn’t. Six points may be a bit much for comfort in a Thursday divisional game, but I’m content to ride with the four-time MVP.
*If I’m being honest, it would have made my life somewhat easier. Loving the Week 3 slate overall and struggling to find a matchup for the seat of shame.
The Pick: Jets -6
NOTE - the Patriots have yet to reveal their choice of pants.

The dreaded o-fer. And a heinous 1-5 start on the year. Need to shake up the mojo with some reunion games.
Gabe Davis - Over 2.5 Receptions
Somewhat of a quiet start in Jacksonville for Gabe Dave. But he’s had three catches in each of the first three games (and ticked up to seven targets last week against the Browns). I expect Trevor to look his way often in a showdown with his old team.
Stefon Diggs - Over 46.5 Receiving Yards
He’s yet to clear the number in his first two games as a Texan. But as defenses shift their focus to WR1 Nico Collins, Diggs should benefit and clean up underneath out of the slot.
Matt Prater - Over 1.5 Field Goals
You know we’re mixing up the mojo going to a kicker this early. But we do what we must. Prater has made two field goals in each of the first two games this season. Let’s do it again.
