Bets Dressed - Championship Sunday - Uniform Matchups, Picks, and Player Props
Championship Sunday. No day on the NFL calendar better exemplifies the agony and the ecstasy of postseason football. Two teams will be punching themselves. And two teams will be punching their tickets to the biggest sporting event on the planet. We’ve got three well dressed teams, one strong uniform matchup, and a handful of possibilities for a sharp Super Bowl. Let’s see what the Uniform Gods have in store.
A quick note on (playoff) methodology.
I’m still analyzing every NFL uniform matchup and picking a winner against the spread based on who dresses best. And just because a team is ranked higher in the Uniform Wardrobe Power Rankings doesn’t mean it will automatically win the uniform matchup. It’s what you wear in the instant matchup that counts.
We're not about to shame teams that made the playoffs. So we're only crowning the best matchup of the weekend from here on out. And still betting the over.
Looking back at the Divisional Round.
1-2-1 on Divisional Weekend. 142-137-3 on the season. Three games left to bolster the .500 gap.
NFC Championship Uniform Matchup.

The Commanders are the lone bad uniform team left in the playoffs. But even they have a workable Super Bowl option if they decide to go burgundy-burgundy-gold.* An Eagles win guarantees us a solid uniform matchup in the big game. And they’re the obvious choice here.
For the first time since 1986, we have two NFC East teams in the NFC Championship Game.** What a time to be alive. The Commanders and Eagles split the season series. But Washington’s three-point victory in Week 16 came with Jalen Hurts playing only 12 snaps before exiting with an injury. And speaking of Hurts, the guy has been getting belittled all week (and all season to be honest). Call it a hunch, but I think we see Super Bowl LVII Jalen in this one. And as incredible as Jayden Daniels and the Cinderella Commanders have been this season, I think the magic runs out in the Linc.
*Bills against the Commanders in that ensemble would be such a breath of fresh air - much like Rams-Bengals in Super Bowl LVI. But it wouldn’t shock me in the slightest to see Washington stick with burgundy-white-burgundy to not mess with the mojo. And while we’re on the subject, the worst aesthetic option remaining is Chiefs-Commanders.
**New York beat Washington en route to a Giants victory over the Broncos in Super Bowl XXI.
The Pick: Eagles -6

Now we’re talking. Bills-Chiefs always delivers. Classic case of blue against red. Personally was rooting for blue pants from Buffalo against the red of the Chiefs, but white-over-white is my favorite Bills road outfit. So no complaints from me. And if the team follows through with blue compression leggings, we’ll get another pop of contrasting color. All in all, the game of the day has a uniform matchup that meets the moment.
Either Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs move one step closer to the first threepeat of the Super Bowl Era. Or Josh Allen and the Bills - and neutral fans across the nation - slay the proverbial dragon. But for our purposes here, we don’t have to concern ourselves with picking a side.* It’s all about the points. In the last seven matchups between these teams (including the playoffs), they’ve cleared the number five times. Neither Allen nor Mahomes are going gently into that offseason night. And I expect no shortage of fireworks from them and their offenses in this one.
*For whatever it’s worth, it’s hard not to root for that lovable bunch from Western New York. However, I don’t mind witnessing history and the dominance we’ve seen from the Chiefs. I also think the “refs rig it for the Chiefs” narrative is totally overblown. I disagreed with some of the calls in the Texans game and despised the baiting/flopping antics close to the sideline. But I wholly reject there is some conspiracy to carry Kansas City to three straight championships.
The Pick: Over 48.5
Club SDR - Championship Sunday Prop Plays.
2-1 on the week. 30-35-1 on the year. Need to make these last two football weekends count.

Jalen Hurts - Over 188.5 Passing Yards
As noted above, all I’ve heard about this week is how Jalen Hurts can’t throw for over 200 yards. Sure, it’s been three games since he’s done it. But one of those games was cut short by injury against these Commanders. And the other time he played Washington this season he cleared the number with ease. The man is due.
Jayden Daniels - Over 285.5 Total Yards
Daniels came through for us with flying colors as a road dog last week. So why mess with a good thing?
Xavier Worthy - Over 4.5 Receptions
In his last six games (not counting his one-snap appearance in Denver), Worthy has had at least five grabs. Let’s do it again, Xavier.
