Bets Dressed - Week 13 - Thursday Night Football Uniform Matchup and Player Props

Week 13 is upon us. Hard to believe there are only six weeks left in the regular season. So let’s enjoy it while we can, and this one is easy to enjoy. The throwback Seahawks are dressed for success and heading down to Dallas - where the football team always looks like a million (or a billion) bucks.

Ladies and gentlemen, the Ospreys and Oil Money Bowl!

A quick note on methodology.

As always, I’m analyzing every NFL uniform matchup and picking a winner against the spread based on who dresses best. And just because a team is ranked higher in the Uniform Wardrobe Power Rankings doesn’t mean it will automatically win the uniform matchup. It’s what you wear in the instant matchup that counts.

Looking back at Week 12.

8-8 on the week. 91-84-6 on the year. Let’s hope Week 13 brings us back over .500. 13 may be an unlucky number. But in the words of Michael Scott, I’m not superstitious. I’m a little stitious.

Seahawks at Cowboys is a showdown between two fantastic uniforms. The Seattle throwbacks are up there with the best looks in the league. And Dallas can do no wrong in their Triple Mismatch Club home outfit. But - as I prepare to take cover - are we sure this is a great uniform matchup? Silver helmets, spiritually similar pants, and every shade of blue you can think of. Don’t get me wrong, this is still a solid aesthetic situation. But it won’t be competing for best of the year (or best of the week* for that matter). With this being the last royal and green throwback game of the season, it feels wrong to pick against the Seahawks. So they get the nod.

It was a tale of two Thanksgivings for the Seahawks and Cowboys. Seattle got smoked against San Francisco. And Dallas deep fried Washington. The Cowboys are playing as good as anyone, and Dak is a bona fide MVP contender. Meanwhile, the Seahawks are navigating a brutal schedule stretch that is going to have them flirting with 6-8 after a 6-3 start. If the Seahawks have any chance here, Geno Smith will have to bring his A game. And fortunately for us, he has been a cover machine for the Seahawks under the lights. As the starter in Seattle, Geno is 4-2 against the spread in primetime (and 4-0 against teams not named the 49ers). Here’s to 5-0, Mr. Smith.

*Especially this week. We’re in for a treat, folks. All bangers all the time.**

**Shoutout Kendall Roy.

The Pick: Seahawks +8.5

Club SDR - Week 13 Player Props.

Thankful for 3-0 on Thanksgiving Week. 22-14 on the season. Let’s see if a trio of veteran quarterbacks can keep the party going.

Tua Tagovailoa - Over 279.5 Passing Yards

Tua and this Dolphins offense against the worst pass defense in the league? Say less.

Russell Wilson - Over 215.5 Passing Yards

Mr. Unlimited has been anything but this season. But that’s okay; it’s working under Sean Payton. The name of the game in Denver is efficiency and avoiding mistakes. These limits are what’s allowing Wilson to return to form.* While he’s only cleared the number once during the Broncos five-game winning streak, the Texans are giving up the second most passing yards to opposing quarterbacks. Let’s ride.

*Russ leads the league in touchdown percentage, interception percentage, fourth-quarter comebacks, and game-winning drives.

Matthew Stafford - Over 239.5 Passing Yards

Stafford is an admittedly questionable pick with the Browns defense coming to town. But Myles Garrett is banged up, and Cleveland is a different pass defense on the road - giving up 227 yards per game versus 110 at home. The Rams are getting hot at the right time and very much in the Wild Card race. And Stafford is coming off his best game of the season. I like him to clear the number here.

Coming Attractions.

Keep an eye out for the Week 13 full slate breakdown to drop Sunday morning. Because we live in a world without an NFL uniform scheduling czar, we’re at the mercy of the teams deciding and announcing their uniform combos each week. Where it’s not 100% clear before posting, I’ll make a best guess and update after the fact for posterity.
