Bets Dressed - Week 11 - Thursday Night Football Uniform Matchup and Fantasy Plays

Hard to believe we're only one week away from Thanksgiving. Week 11 is upon us. And it's an interesting uniform slate, chock-full of highs and lows (much like tonight's matchup).

Speaking of tonight, we've got a Cheesehead whiteout on tap. Ladies and gentlemen, the White Cheddar Bowl!

A quick note on methodology.

As always, I’m analyzing every NFL uniform matchup and picking a winner against the spread based on who dresses best. And just because a team’s wardrobe is ranked higher in the Power Rankings doesn’t mean that it will automatically win the uniform matchup. It’s what you wear in the instant matchup that counts.

And don’t forget the Triple Mismatch Club wrinkle. I’m making three unit plays whenever the best dressed team in the matchup is a member of the Club (different colored helmet, jersey, and pants). And nine unit plays if both members of the week’s best matchup are members.

Week 10 Recap.

Before we dive into Thursday Night Football and Week 11 Fantasy Plays, let’s revisit Week 10:

7-7. It's feeling like Groundhog Day all over again with another .500 week. On to bigger and better things.

Thursday Night Football Uniform Matchup.

In the offseason Power Rankings issue, I hoped for a return of the Packers icy white color rush outfit. Well, you know what they say: ask and you shall receive. I've always been a fan of this look. It's the perfect alternate for Green Bay. A subtle but sharp change that doesn't rock the classic boat. The Titans are still the Titans, and the navy bodysuit may be the worst uniform in their wardrobe. The uniform gods have given us an easy choice to start Week 11: Packers by a mile.

The Packers finally got right last week. But is it too little too late? I say no. The Vikings may be running away with the NFC North, but Green Bay is only 1.5 games outside of the final playoff spot in the NFC. The margin for error is nonexistent though, and the Packers draw a tough test with the 6-3 Titans coming to town. The line tells us these teams are evenly matched on a neutral field. Tennessee gets few style points, but they out-will and outwork their opponents week in and week out. Derrick Henry continues to be a modern marvel. And the edge in this one may come down to whether the Packers run defense can keep him from running wild (a tall order for the fifth worst run defense in the league by yards allowed). But the Titans have their own defensive shortcomings as the fourth worst pass defense in the league by yards allowed. And that's music to the ears of Aaron Rodgers.

The Pick: Packers -3 (-110)

Club SDR - Week 11 Fantasy Plays.

Tough week for the Single Digit Revolution. The Sam Ehlinger prop was voided after news broke that Matt Ryan would be getting the start. Geno Smith fell just a yard short. And Kyle Pitts is dead to me (at least for the rest of this season). 0-2 on the week and down to 13-15 on the season. Nothing like a white tiger to get us back on track.

Robert Woods - Over 3.5 Receptions (+130)

Call it a hunch, but I think Robert Woods is a major piece of the Titans offense this week. Woods has cleared the number in only four of his nine games this season, but his catch numbers don't tell the whole story. Woods is averaging 5 targets per game this season. The presence of Treylon Burks isn't a concern; Woods is averaging almost 1.5 more targets per game when Burks is in the lineup.

Joe Burrow - Over 263.5 Passing Yards (-110)

Last time the Bengals wore the white tiger outfits, we featured only Cincinnati players and went 3-0 in our Single Digit Revolution picks. We're sharing the wealth this week, but at least one White Bengal wearer needs to make an appearance. Enter Joe Burrow. He threw for 338 yards in his first meeting with Pittsburgh this season, and the Steelers are giving up 276 passing yards per game to opposing quarterbacks (the fifth most in the NFL).

Kenny Pickett - Over 243.5 Total Yards (-110)

Sticking with the sharply dressed showdown between the Bengals and Steelers, it's time to put our faith in Kenny Two Gloves. In the four games Pickett has started and finished, he's averaged 273 total yards per game. I like Pickett's chances to play the whole game in this one. By extension, I like him to clear the number.

Coming Attractions.

Bets Dressed Week 11 coverage continues this Sunday with a breakdown of the full slate (plus Monday Night Football).

Look for the Sunday issue to hit your inbox prior to the early window kickoff. As I’ve noted previously, we live in a world without a uniform scheduling czar, so it’s sometimes a chore finding out a team’s wardrobe ahead of time. In instances where it’s not 100% clear, I’ll make a best guess and update the issue later.
